Day three turns to the sea — snorkeling Mnemba Atoll, swimming with green sea turtles, and relaxing on Kendwa Beach. Day four heads into nature and novelty: the red colobus monkeys of Jozani Forest, a refreshing swim in a hidden limestone cave, and lunch or dinner at The Rock, the restaurant perched out in the tide.

Itinerary
Day 1 — Arrival in Zanzibar & Hotel Transfer
Your holiday begins the moment you land. Your driver meets you at Abeid Amani Karume International Airport with a name board and a warm welcome, then transfers you privately to your hotel — anywhere on the island, with the coast and palms drifting past your window along the way. The rest of the day is yours to settle in at your own pace: unpack, take a swim, relax by the pool, or wander down to the shore for a first sunset. No tours are scheduled today, so you arrive comfortably and rest for the days ahead.
Day 2 — Stone Town, Spice Farm & Prison Island: A Full Day of Culture, Aroma & Giant Tortoises
After breakfast your guide collects you for Zanzibar’s cultural heart, woven into one well-paced day.
You start on foot in Stone Town, the UNESCO-listed old quarter, passing carved wooden doors and busy bazaars to see the Old Fort, the House of Wonders, the former slave-market site and Forodhani Gardens, with centuries of Swahili, Arab, Indian and European history brought to life.
Next you head inland to a working Spice Farm, smelling, touching and tasting the cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla that named the Spice Island, and sampling fresh tropical fruit from the trees.
In the afternoon a short boat ride carries you to Prison Island (Changuu) to meet its giant Aldabra tortoises — some past a hundred years old — hear the island’s story as a former quarantine station, and swim over the reef before returning to your hotel for the evening.
Day 3 — Mnemba Atoll, Sea Turtles & Kendwa Beach: A Full Day on the Water
Today belongs to the ocean. After an early breakfast you head to the northeast coast for a boat trip to Mnemba Atoll, one of East Africa’s finest snorkeling sites, where clear water and living coral gardens teem with tropical fish, and dolphins often appear on the way out.
You then visit a natural tidal lagoon near Nungwi to swim with green sea turtles in their seawater sanctuary, learning about the conservation work that protects them. The day finishes at Kendwa Beach, one of the few northern beaches swimmable through low tide — powdery sand and warm turquoise water for a beachside lunch, a swim, or optional water sports, before you’re driven back to your hotel.
Day 4 — Jozani Forest, Cave Swimming & The Rock Restaurant: Rainforest, Hidden Pools & an Ocean Table
Your fourth day blends wild nature with one of Zanzibar’s most photographed experiences. You begin in Jozani Forest, the island’s only national park, walking shaded trails and the mangrove boardwalk among the endemic red colobus monkeys found nowhere else on Earth.
From there you continue to a hidden limestone cave, descending a few steps into cool, crystal-clear freshwater for a refreshing swim in a magical underground setting. In the afternoon you head to The Rock Restaurant, the famous eatery perched on a coral outcrop in the ocean, where you’ll enjoy fresh seafood and local dishes with sweeping sea views — reaching it on foot or by boat depending on the tide — before returning to your hotel for a final night.
Day 5 — Departure: Kwaheri, Zanzibar
Your last morning is unhurried. Enjoy a relaxed breakfast, a final swim, or some last-minute shopping for spices and souvenirs, then a private transfer — timed to your flight — takes you to the airport.
As you retrace the coastal road you arrived on, you’ll carry a full picture of the island and an open invitation from Rama and the team to return.
