The heart of the trip weaves three signature experiences into a single well-paced day. You’ll trace the Swahili, Arab, Indian and European history layered through Stone Town, breathe in the cloves, cinnamon and vanilla that named the Spice Island on a working Spice Farm, and cross by boat to Prison Island to meet its famous giant tortoises, some well past a hundred years old.

Itinerary
Day 1 — Arrival in Zanzibar & Hotel Transfer
Your Zanzibar package begins the moment you land. Your driver meets you at Abeid Amani Karume International Airport with a name board and a warm island welcome, then transfers you privately to your hotel — wherever you’re staying on the island, from Stone Town to the northern beaches.
Depending on your arrival time, the rest of the day is yours to unwind: settle into your room, take a swim, enjoy the hotel amenities, or wander down for a first barefoot walk along the shore as the sun drops. There are no tours scheduled today, so you can arrive at your own pace and rest up for the full day ahead.
Day 2 — Stone Town, Spice Farm & Prison Island: A Full Day of Culture, Aroma & Giant Tortoises
After breakfast, your guide collects you for the heart of the trip — three of Zanzibar’s signature experiences woven into one well-paced day. You begin on foot in Stone Town, the island’s UNESCO-listed old quarter, winding past carved wooden doors and busy bazaars to take in the Old Fort, the House of Wonders, the former slave-market site and Forodhani Gardens, with the layered Swahili, Arab, Indian and European history brought to life along the way.
From there you head inland to a working Spice Farm, where you’ll smell, touch and taste the cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla that gave Zanzibar its name — your guide explaining how each grows and is used, with fresh tropical fruit picked straight from the trees.
In the afternoon a short boat ride carries you across to Prison Island (Changuu), home to the famous giant Aldabra tortoises, some well past a hundred years old. You’ll meet these gentle giants up close, hear the island’s story as a former quarantine station, and cool off with a swim over the reef or a rest on the white-sand beach before being driven back to your hotel for a relaxed evening.
Day 3 — Departure: Kwaheri, Zanzibar
Your final morning is easy and unhurried. Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at your hotel, then a private transfer delivers you to the airport in comfortable time for your onward flight.
As you go, you’ll carry one last view of Zanzibar’s turquoise water — and an open invitation from Rama and the team to come back and see the rest of the island.
