The Village Tour & Spice Farm Tour brings together two completely different sides of Zanzibar in one relaxed, well-paced day. You’ll spend time in a traditional Zanzibari village, where life moves at its own gentle rhythm. Welcomed into a local home for a cup of Zanzibari coffee on the baraza, you’ll walk narrow village paths to meet seaweed farmers, a dhow carpenter, and children at the local school — a genuine glimpse of island life you won’t find on the beach.

From the village, it’s a short drive to a working spice farm — the reason Zanzibar earned its name, the “Spice Island.” A guided walk leads you through lush plantation greenery where you’ll touch, smell and taste cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom, vanilla and black pepper straight from the plant, watch a coconut-tree climbing demonstration, and sample sweet tropical fruit in season.

Hotel Pickup & Drive to the Village

Your guide pick you from your hotel in an air-conditioned vehicle and heads to a traditional village. The drive takes roughly 30–45 minutes depending on where you are staying, passing coral-rag farmland and everyday island life on the way.

Arrival & Welcome in the Village

A warm Swahili welcome from local residents. Your guide introduces you to village life — the compounds, daily routines, and the simple rhythms that still shape rural Zanzibar.

Experience Local Life & Traditional Skills

Walk through the village meeting friendly locals. Watch artisans weave baskets, make pottery or carve wood using techniques passed down for generations.
